Radiant Sunstone Necklace

At first glance, this setting looks clean and simple. Making it was not.

Working a torch around so many slender pieces of silver without melting anything is a delicate business. I also wanted the prongs to meet the sunstone precisely at its four points, emphasizing the shape of the stone while allowing as much light as possible to reach its facets and copper schiller.

Getting everything seated and aligned while tightening each prong was extremely fiddly. The reward is all that lovely peach and copper shimmer held inside a crisp, bright geometry of Argentium Silver.

The stone is an ethically mined, princess-cut Oregon sunstone measuring 6 mm on each side. The necklace arrives on a delicate Sterling Silver box chain in your choice of 16 or 18 inches.
